Conatha

Conatha is a small salt water planet in Greyspace, the system in which Oerth is set. It is one of the Outer Planets, past the Grinder separating the planets of the crystal sphere.
Description
Conatha is a roughly prolate spheroid which revolves around it's minor axis, end-over-end, along it's orbit. It is approximately 800 miles by 600 miles. Despite being a water-world, it has an atmosphere similar to Oerth's, except it has no wind, clouds, or air currents. It does, however, have very strong water-currents caused by solar heating.
Ecology
It's water is has a high saline content, resembling that of an Oerth ocean, as opposed to a lake.

Population
Aquatic life abounds on Conatha. There are countless species of every shape and size, from microscopic plankton and bioluminescent slimes or oozes to enormous Conathan Leviathan whales 200 yards long, which are aggressive predators. The variety of fish includes everything as small and innocuous as Earthly minnows to large predators comparable to sharks and barracudas. There are thought to be at least six different species of whiles on Conatha—half of which are similar to Oerthly whales, the others being native and unique to Conatha.
There are two distinct colonies of highly xenophobic mermen who live on Conatha known as Varanais and Loquasti (Vigilence and Security in the merfolk language). Despite being otherwise similar to all other merfolk, they insist they are native to and evolved on Conatha. Due to the dangerous nature of the prolific aquatic species of Conatha, it is hazardous for the merfolk to venture outside their own communities by even a few miles, and so there is little communication between them.
Unsurprisingly, because of the nature of the sahuagin threat, the merfolk hesitate to trust outsiders to the point of refusing help when it would benefit them, simply due to being offered by outsiders.
There are a dozen major sahuagin cultures on Conatha, and approximately a dozen more minor ones. The most prominent of these are known as Zuplisti, X'kabantun, St'kils, K'klosh and Uk'stiz (transliterated from the sahuagin language).
Features
Conatha has no continents, islands, or other land surface features of any kind. Although, there are two earth formations deep at the core of the planet. Upon these are founded the two merman cultures.
