The Mist Kingdom is an island chain in the Vohoun Ocean consisting of seven main fog-shrouded islands, populated primarily by a family of mist dragons.
Description
"This collection of seven islands evokes wonder, even in the locals. Its name derives from the persistent fogs that seem to shroud the isles, making them almost invisible until one is right on top of them. The collection of isles was once home to a handful of small realms established by the Olman more than a millennium ago. Their societies languished and their people vanished, possible moving to the mainland, following the unraveling of their empire.
... the Mist Kingdom is ruled by a powerful clutch of draconic overloards who first came to the isles more than seven centuries ago [before -109 CY]. At least one dragon claims each of th4e isles as its home. They only tolerate small tribes of beastmen on their lands, in addition to the typical flora and fauna of the region. Any large invasion or attempt at settlement on their isles is repelled ruthlessly. The Olman of the mainland fear the dragons as aspects of their gods and refuse to disturb them. The origin of the beastmen who live peacefully with the dragons is something of a mystery, and they have been spied worshipping at the temples in the unspoiled Olman ruins. It is assumed that these edifacves have probably been plundered of their treasures by the dragons long ago."[1]
History
"Every few decades, one or more attacks the pirates who try to establish camps in the Mist Kingdom; a few pirates are always left to carry the tale back to their fellows."[2]

The inhabitants of the islands are exceedingly few. The islands are primarily the residence of mist dragons. They have had offspring, some of whom still live on the islands. At least one of the young left to live in the previous lands of their parents (Fundamental Thought and Sincere Assertion).
Aproximately 200 beastfolk live on the islands with the dragons.[2]
Notable individuals
- Fundamental Thought (f)—matriarch
- Sincere Assertion (m)—first mate
- Vehement Debate (m)—second mate
- six other younger mist dragons (children of previous three)
Publishing history
The main source of information about the Mist Kingdom is from their original publishing in The Scarlet Brotherhood (1999), given brief statistics and description there.
It was given a fresh look in the Savage Tide Adventure Path (2006-2007) when the adventure travels near the kingdom by ship on the way to the Isle of Dread.
