Mike Schley (pronounced /shlɑɪ/) is an American freelance artist and cartographer who has worked extensively for Wizards of the Coast, and has produced several iconic maps for greyhawk.
Early life and education
Schley first attended Old Dominion university in Virginia.
He and his wife, Jillian, moved from Arizona specifically for her to attend the Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts (PAFA)l, an art school with a world-class reputation which received a National Medal of Arts. After she graduated in 2015, he enrolled at PAFA and earned a Master's of Fine Art degree.
Career
Over his career, Schley has worked for an incredible variety of clients, before settling into the fanasy industry. Some have included HarperCollins, Scholastic, Little, Brown and Company, W. W. Norton & Company, Inkle Studios, becker&mayer! Book Producers, Launch Interactive, Auction of Washington Wines, Decipher, Windsor Assurance, Park Models Manufacturing, Druidian Archive Services
Among his gaming credits have been working for Paizo Publishing , Vorpal Games, Sidhe Games, ProFantasy Software, and Wizards of the Coast / Hasbro Games
