Ironport is a town in the Sea Baronies, and is the main port on the island of Asperd.
Geography and climate
Since the coast of Asperd Isle is so rocky, Ironport is the only viable natural harbor.[1] It's located about halfway up the western coast of the island, to the north and slightly to the west of Asperdi.[2]
Cityscape
The most prominent feature of the city is the temple to Procan, which is built facing the harbor. The building is adorned with arabesques, symbols of Procan, with a 20-ft statue of Procan himself being the center piece. The walls of the city are nearly 100-ft high, with anchors carved along the bottom, and ropes and chains carved below the battlements [3].The navel quarter is walled off from the rest of the city to avoid the rowdiness of sailors disturbing the other citizens [4].
People
The people of Ironport are said to be "thrifty, pragmatic, and (it must be said) relatively humorless souls[5]."
Religion
The people of the city mostly worship Procan, an Oeridian god of the sea.
