Central Oerik

Central Oerik is the portion on the continent of Oerik west of the Flanaess but east of Western Oerik. Much of Central Oerik is occupied by nations which are generally Asian-themed, seeming to be historical-fantasy analogs similar to Mongolian, Chinese, Japanese, Nepalese, and Indian cultures, and additionally Egyptian. Other fantasy cultures are present, such as Komal, Risay, Mur, and Dragons Island.
- Celestial Imperium—A vast nation peopled with a hard-working peasantry ruled by a complex bureaucracy. (also known as the "Shaofeng Kingdom"[1] and the "Celestial Empire of Shao Feng"),[2] and synonymous with "Suhfang",[3]
- Erypt—An arid land ruled by a dynasty of priest kings.
- High Khanate—An arid land peopled by two tribes of sturdy nomads. The inlanders resemble the horsemen of the Balunish Basin, but on the coast they take to boats.
- Low Khanate—A companion realm to the High Khanate; named more for its location in a deep vale below the mountains than for any inferior status. A hidden valley reputedly contains the tombs of khans from both realms.
- Nippon—A densely populated island nation of fishermen, warriors, and poets. Unsure of the place's real name.
- Nippon Dominion—A protectorate only recently conquered by the warriors of Nippon.
- Orcreich—A nation of orcs ruled by a tyrannical king. The orcs seem to thrive under the brutal regime.
- Zindia—A tropical land where rich cities rise from steaming jungles. (Also known as Jahindi and Zahindi.)
- Komal
- Risay
- Mur
- Dragons Island—Tales from the Celestial Imperium speak of a land ruled by a dragon prince. If such a place exists, it probably lies here.
It is distinct from far Western Oerik, separated by the most massive range of mountains on Oerth situated between Central and Western Oerik. It is bordered to the south by the Celestial Sea and the Gulf of Ra; to the east by the mountain range comprising the Barrier Peaks, Crystalmists, Hellfurnaces and Tyurzi Mountains; and to the north by Sea of Hyperboria.
