Appolled was a citadel in the Prelacy of Almor. It was home to the great paladin Shreckend and all of his loyal retainers until it was sacked. It contained chapels to both Heironeous and Pelor, which were looted for their treasures during the sacking.
History
The citadel held out well into the razing of Almor, only being destroyed by concentrated efforts of Ivid's army, led by Duke Szeffrin, in Flocktime of 585 CY, months after the destruction of Chathold. The army was mostly comprised of orcs, and several bands of them still roam the area.
Geography
The ruins of Appolled lie north of Chathold, just to the southeast of Bloodcrystal, near the banks of the Harp River.
People
There are thirty low-level fighters and men-at-arms who survived the destruction of the citadel by hiding in the dungeon. They have a magical cornucopia with them that effectively lets them cast create food and water three times a day, as well as a sixth level mage, and have yet to work up the courage to come out and assess the situation. Rumors and legends
The men holding out in the dungeon would most certainly have valuble first hand knowledge of the types of forces that Duke Szeffrin was able to raise to supplament the orcish army, especially the types of fiends he had at his beck and call. They also allegedly managed to hide the spellbooks of Arastenn, the premier mage of Appolled. [2]
