Darkpool

Darkpool is a subterranean ruin within the Fellreev Forest. It was once an orcish city called Dazark, but all of its inhabitants were destroyed by plague over a century ago. It is now the home of Hierarch Nezmajen of the Horned Society.

Darkpool is haunted by magic manifesting as pools of animate darkness flickering through the tunnels of their own volition. This magic has been divined to be the work of some evil humanoid deity (perhaps Skiggaret, Stalker, Shargaas, or Yurtrus), as well as another, as yet identified source. Divination magic is impossible in Darkpool.

Deeper still, the tunnels become natural caves, the home of ropers, phase spiders, puddings, hook horrors, sheet phantoms, and mephits.
