Lak Ichine is a non-tributary lake in central Hepmonaland.
Description
"Set between four cities, Lake Ichine is avoided by people from all of them. The lake is covered with a black, tarry substance that will not burn. and at night dim lights can be seen above the tar. Anyone who spends too much time near the lake slips into a coma or goes insane. The remains of a bat-people city press up through the tar on the southern end of the lake."[1]
History
Exceedingly little is detailed about the mysterious "bat-like people" of Hepmonaland. Only rare evidence of them is found, but they were ancient and left behind ruins and mysterious items, often found in or near lakes.[2] Telaneteculi uses an image of one of thiese people in their heraldry,[3] indicating that they weren't only in Hepmonaland.
Geography
Lake Ichine is approximately equidistant from Alocoatla and Cuhuetla in the middle of the Centeo Jungle, and Sharbakal and Anatal near the coast.
There are no significant tributary rivers, and Ichine is not a tributary of any notable rivers. It is likely Lake Ichine is an endoheric lake, or a lake in a "closed" or "terminal" basin with no outlets or tributaries.
People
Few, if any, people reside near Lake Ichine.
