Longspear is a city in the The Yeomanry League and is the governmental "Seat" of one of the nation's five high districts. It is located on the west bank of the Javan River, across from the Kingdom of Keoland's county of Cryllor.
History
People
Humans of Suel, Flan and Oeridian mix can be found here as can halflings, elves, dwarves, gnomes, with a sprinkling of half-elves and half-orcs as well.
Government
Longspear is one of the five high districts of the Yeomanry and is represented on the 100 member Council of Common Grosspokesmen by their elected official, known as a Grosspokeman.
Economy
Lonspear is the major trading center for the nation and is the destination for most of it's excess goods. Foreigners are welcome here and a great deal of commerce is conducted, especially with Keoland, the Yeomanry's closest neighbor.
Military
The Yeomanry maintains an army of polearms, spearmen, crossbowmen, slingers and small calvary units, with the demi-human population supplying elven bowmen and spearmen, dwarven mailed foot and halfling light troops. A garrison is located at Longspear to protect against incursions from the Dreadwood. Though the elves of the Dreadwood work with the Kingdom of Keoland to keep the woodlands clear, monsters still dwell there and it is strongly suspected that the Sea Princes are in collusion with certain bandits and humanoid bands to use the Dreadwood as a highway to raid southern Keoland and the Yeomanry, particularly the Longspear area near the forest.
