Melkot is an independent city state located in the southern Tors.

History

As the Suel moved eastward during the Great Migrations, they settled in the valleys found throughout the Jotens and the Tors. Suel explorers established many mining communities and outposts all round these mountains and one such became the town of Melkot.

Early in his adventuring career, Theodain Eriason--now a member of the Circle of Eight--used the town of Melkot as a base of operations. From Melkot, Theodain explored the vast reaches of the Hellfurnaces and defeated the various plots of several assassins and evil cults which had based themselves in the Hool Marshes. While based in Melkot, Theodain was among the first to explore Slerotin's Passage, near the town of Dark Gate, in the The Yeomanry League in 576 CY.

Geography and climate

The town of Melkot is located in the southern Tors. The Hellfurnaces border Melkot on the west. To the east and south lay the nearly impenetrable Hool Marshes. The southern passage into the Hold of the Sea Princes though certainly possible, is never-the-less a very dangerous and difficult trek.

There is a passageway through the Tors connecting Melkot with The Yeomanry League.

People

An occult order known as the Sons of Marchanter is based in Melkot (LGJ #4, 16).

Economy

The town of Melkot is supported by the mining operations that take place in the surrounding region.
