The Telles ve Turu Decada (also known as the Keepers of the Crowns and Moon is an organization originally from Furyondy, founded to fight the influence of Iuz and his Empire.
History
The Tellessi (Keepers) were originally a heraldic order based in their own independent citadel at the northern edge of Furyondy on the Veng River, just south of its juncture with the Crystal River. The citadel, Wellborne Castle, and the entire order were attacked by Iuz's forces in 500 CY, and the citadel razed. Afterward, the remaining members went into hiding, but continued their mission to fight.[1]
Because nature abhors a vaccuum, the Horned Society arose to replace Iuz after he disappeared in 505 CY, and the Keepers shifted their goals to fight them instead. With the return of Iuz, the Keepers continue fighting evil in general, and especially concentrate on fighting Iuz.[1]
Members
Most any applicant of good alignment who is willing to commit themselves to fighting the forces of evil and darkness in the Flanaess and promise to protect the innocent may join the Keepers.[2]
All members of the Tellessi speak Velondi. If they don't when they join, they learn it.
Structure
Alignment
The group's goals are good-aligned ones which center around fighting evil. It follows that all its constituent members are necessarily of good alignment, though some exceptions are made for those who are lawful neutral.
Headquarters
The Keepers have no real base of operations and can be found anywhere throughout the Flaness, though they are most common in "Furyondy, Veluna, and the Urnst states."[2] "The Tellessi have only a thin network throughout the Flanaess, though some of its members are highly placed in courts and the military. Not a large organization, the Keepers nevertheless have cells in further lands, some of which can even be found within evil states."[2]
Heraldry
The symbol most used amongst the Keepers is some form of the crowns and crescent moon (as depicted above), which are from the heraldic symbols of Furyondy. Any symbol is seldom shown brazenly or ostentatiously, and is often subtle as on "rings, medallions, earrings, patches, and other accouterments."[2] Members confirm each other by speaking phrases in Velondi which refer to the pervasiveness of darkness or shadows.[2]
