Tormengrend is a hamlet in the Grandwood.
Cityscape
The settlement consists of 28 wooden cabins, surrounded by a wooden palisade which has sharpened tips. Additionally, the hamlet is surrounded by cleverly-concealed spear pit traps for further defense. Children under the age of fourteen are not allowed to leave the settlement unsupervised because of this, and their coming of age involves memorizing the location of all the pits.[1]
People
Population
The hamlet consists of only 117 individuals, [1] though this is large for the region.
Notable individuals
The main notable individuals are the three rangers, (2nd, 3rd, and 5th level), who guard the area and patrol for roughly 100 square miles surrounding the settlement.[1]
There is also a priest of Atroa (Pr1), who not only can cast cure wounds in an emergency but is a trained herbalist and can cure and treat many ailments with natural poultices. She also knows how to extract teeth if needed.[1]
Resources
The hamlet does occasional trade with wood elves, though most of its resources come from small groups who go out trapping and forging, gathering things like fungi, tubers and elderberries. The hamlet has an armory with a half-dozen elven longbows, along with two longswords taken from Imperial deserters. These are in addition to the staves, spears, and crossbows the villagers have, and the heavy hunting and skinning knives their best trappers carry.[1]
