Tyrgs are creatures found in forested hills of the Flanaess.
Description
A tyrg is a magical beast resembling a cross between a tiger and a wolf.[1][2] The tyrg's habits are fairly similar to that of real-life predatory mammals, with its main interests being in hunting, breeding and survival.
Typical physical appearance
Tyrgs typically have "a white fur coat with grey, black , and tan spots, its sleek stance is reminiscent of a great hunting cat's, but its powerful, many-fanged jaws are definitely canine in nature."[2][1]
"A tyrg is 3 feet tall at the shoulder and anywhere between 6 to 9 feet long. It weighs 700 pounds."[2][1]
Environment
Tyrgs are most commonly found in the foothills or lower slopes of forested mountains.[1][2]
Personality
Abilities
Tyrgs have a howl which can "mildly stun their victims" for several rounds.[1] It attacks by stunning prey with a raspy-roaring howl, and then moving in to attack with its claws and teeth.[1]
The eyes and ears of tyrgs are preternaturally acute.[1]
Tyrgs are noted for being incredibly stealthy hunters and moving in near-silence, as well as remaining hidden and unseen.[1][2]
Tyrgs cannot speak.[1]

Possessions
Activities
Relationships
"They are social creatures like wolves, but unlike wolves they prefer to hunt alone."[2] Other tyrgs are not immune to a tyrg's howl effect, giving reason for their not hunting in packs.[1]
