The White Paladins is a religious organization of the Flanaess.
Description
The White Paladins are a group of typically former worshippers of Heironeous who began following Murlynd. Previously, Murlynd's worshippers received spells through Heironeous, who'd sponsored Murlynd to deityhood. In 590 CY[1], Murlynd ascended and began granting spells to his followers independently. However, Murylnd had followers, and paladins, prior to that.
Their motto is "Technology is an instrument of justice so long as the hand that wields it is True."[2]
Much in the same way their patron once travelled the Flanaess with the Company of Seven, and now travels the planes with Heironeous, Celestian, and other deities, the White Paladins travel the Flanaess fighting evil, supporting those who need help, and searching for knowledge and technology (or researching methods of making it). [3]
History
The White Paladins were founded when followers of Heironeous found themselves following paths outside the typical core beliefs of Heironeous.[2] They were interested in the magical technology of Murlynd, and began following the hero-deity's path.
Members
The White Paladins are exclusively paladins.
Structure
Alignment
Paladins dedicated to Murlynd (like all paladins) are lawful good.[2]
Heraldry
Though there is not a distinct and specific heraldry for the organization, most paladins of Murlynd find a way to incorporate the six-pointed star of Murlynd into their gear or garb.[3]
Resources
Because they are frequently found forging, creating, and fiddling with otherworldly magical devices, White Paladins often have equipment and gear others would not.
Infamously, the more complex or technologically oriented the weapon, the more these paladins desire it. they own —and guard very closely— their "firebrands", remarkable (some think magical) devices that can fire small metallic balls with sufficient force to pierce flesh and penetrate hide at great distances.[3]
