Yori Kerlgortz is a barber and dentist for the dwarves of Irongate.[1]
Description
Though the source does not sopecifically mention Kerlgortz' race, he seems to cater to a primarily dwarven clientele, and is illustrated as a bearded dwarf with short hair and a bald pate.
Possessions
Kerlgortz is famous (or infamous) for being the barber using or proprietor of the Barber's Aid. This device looks like a barber's chair, but with animated mechanical armature. The chair can do things like performing dentistry (drilling or pulling teeth), grooming hands and nails, haircuts, beard shaving, braiding hair or beards, etc.[1]
The device, in any case, is dangerous. It uses animate object to power it, and there is a 10% chance per use the device will escape the barber's control, pulling and drilling teeth, clipping all hair and eyebrows, and entangling its devices in the user's hair and clothes. Yori was forced to get rid of his Barber's Aid or be thrown into a deep mineshaft.[1]

After his assistants quit over a "beard-braiding dispute," Yori persuaded "his king" to bankroll the construction of a magical device to help him: the Barber's Aid.[1][note 1]

- ↑ The identity of Yori's king is not given explicitly. The Free City of Irongate does not have a king, unless this happened before 447 CY, when the Great Kingdom ruled it. More likely, since this refers to "his king" rather than the king of where he worked (in Irongate)—it is ostensibly King Holgi Hirsute, ruler of the great dwarven Kingdom of the Iron Hills.
