Atop a tall crag in the forested hills near Sergult River south of Free City of Dyvers stands a stone lighthouse some 200 feet high, visible for quite some distance. Everyone knows of it and the continual light which radiates from its cupola tower; all smilingly refer to “the mad woman” who built it.[2] The tower was built in 573 CY, though the methods used to contruct it are somewhat mysterious. It is suspected magic is involved, either to build the tower or to make the construction workers forget everything about building it.[3]
Zendrelda is a gaunt, grey-haired wizard in her late fifties who believes that the Greyhawk Wars presage the end of Oerik by a great flood. She has built this place as a refuge and a beacon for the ships that will save a chosen few. She visits the small, nearby town, One Oak annually "causing a small disturbance" and employs others for upkeep.[3]
