Greyhawk Settlement
Narsel Mendred
General information
Realm:Almor

Narsel Mendred was the second largest city in what was the Prelacy of Almor and later became part of Nyrond after the Greyhawk Wars.

History

During the tail end of the Greyhawk wars in 585 CY, orcs under the command of Duke Szeffrin destroyed the city as part of the greater sacking of Almor. Fully half of the buildings were completely razed, while only one tenth of them survived fully intact. [1] After the war, the ruined city was filled with bandits, desperate refugees with nowhere else to go, renegade orc gangs, and the occasional fiend. Nabassu in particular took the ruins of Narsel Mendred as their hunting ground just after the war. [1]

Geography

The city is located fairly far inland, to the southeast of Harskern where the Harp River and the Flessern River meet.

People

Religion

There are two major religious groups that continued after the destruction of the city.

The first is a group of Priest of Pholtus. Before the sacking of the city, there was a cathederal to him there, and some of the priests remain, guarding the treasures from the shattered building that they managed to rescue with their lives. [1]

The second is a trio of young priests of Ehlonna. During the fighting, they managed to shepherd a group of forty children out of local school that was under attack. The group hid in an crypt located under the city, and survived the attack, but were still living there, as of the end of 585 CY barely scraping by on scavenged food.
