Beory's Day is the 1st day (Starday) of Flocktime on the common calendar of the Flanaess.
Apocrypha
This holiday is frequently mistaken for official lore due to its widespread inclusion in many fan-created Greyhawk calendars. However, it originated as community content and has never appeared in any official source.
Holidays and celebrations
"The day is usually marked by villagers singing and dancing around a wooden pole to celebrate the passing of the seasons and the blessings of spring."[1]
Creative origin
The community version of the calendar which first contained Beory's Day (1994) had month charts by Kent Matthewson, and text by Joe Katzman and Jason Saunders. The calendar was published at Katzman's and Matthewson's website, greyhawk-codex.com,[1] and spread by fans to other fans, and proliferated throughout the fan community, and became the basis of other fan-calendars.
The same calendar was later modified by Mike LeSeney in 1995, and again by Doug LaVigne, 2003.
