General information
Alignment:Always Good
Type:Outsider

A celestial paragon is a unique, powerful celestial. They are often considered the opposites of archfiends. There are at least sixteen paragons in existence.[1]

Celestial paragons are the rulers of celestials. Like archfiends, each paragon has a unique form and abilities. Unlike archfiends, celestial paragons never fight or spy upon one another.[1]

Celestial paragons operate independently of deities. They have their own agents, agendas, and goals; many act as patrons for organizations on the Material Plane. While paragons cannot grant spells to divine spellcasters, they sometimes petitioned good-aligned deities to do so for them. The most powerful followers of celestial paragons can occasionally channel their patron for a short time. Celestial paragons do not desire worship and are careful to remind their followers of that fact.[1]

Bahamut spent some time as a celestial paragon after his aspect, Marduk, was killed.[2]

Celestial Hebdomad

The Celestial Hebdomad consists of the seven paragons who ruled Mount Celestia and the archons who lived there.[1]

Talisid and the Five Companions

This group of guardinal paragons are more like an adventuring party than any kind of rulers. They wander Elysium[3] and smash any evil creatures who threatens the plane. The guardinals always existed here as far as anyone knows, and the companions have always solved disputes and led celestial warriors into battle. Members of the group retire once they deem themselves unfit for service, but Talisid has been around for so long hardly anyone can remember the name of the group's former leader. Occasionally, members of the group argue, but they do so as the dearest of friends with a loyalty to each other which puts mere family loyalty to shame.[1]

The membership of the group is last listed as follows:

  • Talisid, the Celestial Lion: Leader of the companions for several millenia, most powerful of the leonals.
  • Sathia, the Sky Duchess: Representative of the avorals and patron of sculptors and painters.
  • Manath, the Horned Duke: Representative of the cervidals and newest member of the Companions.
  • Vhara, Duchess of the Fields: Representative of the equinals.
  • Kharash, the Stalker: Paragon of lupinals and Talisid's best friend.
  • Bharrai, the Great Bear: Matriarch of the ursinals and teacher of magic.

Court of Stars

Main page: Court of Stars

The Court of Stars is a demiplane which travels between locations in Arvandor, Aquallor, and Mithardir (the three layers of Arborea) at the whim of Morwel, the Queen of Stars.[4] This is achieved by opening portals which shift the plane between the various realms. Morwel is the only being who can permit the opening and closing of these portals.[4] The demiplane resembles an autumnal sylvan forest populated with fey and eladrins with a huge crystal palace erupting from the heart of the woods where the queen entertained guests and discusses prominent issues. Beings on the plane do not hunger, thirst, or tire; but can eat, drink, and sleep for enjoyment. Morwel and her consorts rule over the eladrins.

Morwel is flighty but always has the best interests of the eladrin people at heart. While Morwel holds absolute power as a feudal queen would, she relies heavily on the counsel of her consorts, for whom she holds a great amount of affection. Though she has had many consorts in the past, most recently she only has two:

  • Faerinaal, the Queen's Consort: Master politician and shrewd judge of character—tasked with defending the Court of Stars and rescuing captured eladrins, as well as providing company and counsel to the queen.
  • Gwynharwyf, the "Whirling Fury": Patron of barbarians. When not leading good-aligned barbarian hordes against evil, she also acts as consort to the queen.
