Crockport is a town on the Furyondian border with the Empire of Iuz.

Description

History

"Before the wars, Crockport was a prosperous town of 9,000 souls. ... Crockport [was] the headquarters of Iuz’s officers and priests, who [oversaw] the war of terror which rage[d] south to the Crystal and east to the Veng. Iuz always station[ed] one of his Boneheart, the innermost group of his minions, in Crockport.
The present ruler of Crockport is the young, cruelly brilliant High Priest Xenvelen, who distinguished himself in the Furyondian theater of war. Xenvelen favors biding his time, building resources, and then delivering sudden, decisive blows. This is why the work along the Razing Line is so worrying."[2]

"... in 588 CY, the Battle of Grabford provided Furyondy with a crucial victory that allowed it to encircle Crockport, the base of Iuz’s operations in the occupied lands. When the city finally fell to the forces of weal, it was the site of uncontrolled chaos and slaughter of the occupying forces. Crockport had been the goal of the great Northern Crusade. Many fell victim to emotion in its recapture, and few good men remember the event with any degree of pride."[3]

Geography

Crockport lies at the southernmost point of Whyestil Lake, approximately 50 miles north of Chendl in Furyondy and 30 miles east of the verge of the Vesve Forest.

People

"Around 1,500 humans ... survive[d] in Crockport [in 585 CY, retained as slave labor and hostages. Massive magical strikes against Crockport remain[ed] hard for good-aligned Furyondian mages to countenance when loss of innocent life would be certain.
Xenvelen maintaine[d] a force of 800 orcs, 300 hobgoblins, and 80 elite orogs garrisoned at Crockport. The orogs are known to include a personal "Household Phalanx," serving as personal guards for the evil priest. This personal guard include[d] orogs with the skills of 13th-leve fighters and many magical items looted from slain foes and conquered towns."[2]
