House Faeldon (seen also as Fealdon) is a minor Oeridian merchant house based in Leukish and lead by Lady Saria Faeldon. Their house colors are silver and pale blue.[1]
They declared for White Harts in 596 CY and believe Lord Jolen Lorinar, the Duke's son, should have been Regent after Duke Karll's disappearance in 595 CY.[2]
History
Shortly before the Turmoil Between Crowns in the Great Kingdom, a large Aerdy merchant house of minor Oeridian nobles, House Corwain, expanded their operations into the Urnst states and Nyrond. These new holdings expanded and increased House Corwain's wealth and power in Aerdry and Rauxes. Then came the Turmoil Between Crowns, and the coming to power of Ivid I. This resulted in a schism inside House Corwin, as a minor member house (one without any noble titles or land holdings), House Faeldon, disagreed with House Corwain's backing of House Naelex. So great was this schism, that House Faeldon, which was currently responsible for the Duchy of Urnst's mercantile interests, severed all ties with its parent House, declaring itself an independent interest. Further, House Faeldon pulled all members of its house from Aerdry and applied with the Urnst government for a Merchant Charter.
Over the next years, House Faeldon has grown in size as it used the contacts that House Corwain had cultivated before the Turmoil Between Crowns. As Aerdy became a more decadent and depraved nation, House Faeldon was able to underbid House Corwain interests and draw them to itself. Of particular interest to House Faeldon was the timber industry. With Urnst providing much mineral wealth, it was however lacking in renewable resources such as timber. The majority of House Faeldon's international trading partners were from nations and areas that were lacking the mineral wealth (iron and silver mostly), but had large tracks of timberland they could harvest and desired to trade in exchange.
Then came the Greyhawk Wars. As almost the whole of the Flanaess was consumed by conflict, House Faeldon found few places willing or able to fulfill contractual obligations for timber. Further compounding House Faeldon's troubles were that most of its export cargos of silver and iron had already left the House's Urnst warehouses for its destinations. As they neared their destinations, they were either hit with banditry (both from actual raiders to being forcibly seized by foreign governments at their destination), or they found the buyers unable to exchange the promised goods in return thus forcing the caravans to hazard a return trip through now often hostile territory. In addition, very few of House Faeldon's obligations could be met within the Duchy forcing them to pay reparations to the affected clients. This further compounded their financial loses, as they still had to make good on the purchases of mineral wealth from the Cairn Hills and Abbor Alz mines. These minerals they were able to sell to concerned parties, who in turn sold them to arms and weapons dealers to whom the silver and iron were highly valuable commodities.
Many within House Faeldon argued that they should be the ones cultivating these trading relations, not the other Houses. But Lord Kerwin would not balk. He refused to make money in endeavors that directly caused the loss of life, owing to a (some believed) higher ideal.
With the end of the war, House Faeldon's finances were in shambles. As the other nations attempt to pull themselves up from the destruction they suffered during the war, House Faeldon has found itself with the majority of it contracts intact but also looking for new contracts to bolster her coffers. (It's even been rumored that House Faeldon contracts were behind some of Nyrond's recent foresting activities in the Celadon Forest, those these have yet to be substantiated.)[3]

- Lady Nayln Faeldon-Operates the office in Thallin[5] and was accused of the murder of Lord Kerwin Faeldon in 596 CY but was found innocent.[6] She eventually married ex-Sheriff Cern sometime between 591CY and 593CY.[4]
