Pontyrel is a major town and provincial center in the Duchy of Urnst, located within the Maure lands[1] in Sculdan County.
Description
Geography
History
While the exact date of the founding of the city of Pontyrel is unknown, this much is known: Three minor noble houses of the Suel arrived in this area one year before the Twin Cataclysms. Banding together they named the newly constituted Suloise house, the Maure and laid claim to the lands all around, including the present-day location of Pontyrel.

Economy
Trades with the dwarves of Dumadan and all trading occurs at Pontyrel.[3] Additionally, Pontyrel is the major trading market for ores and gems from the gnomes.[4]
Currency
Uses the duchy's standard coinage consisting of the platinum sterling duke (pp), gold duke (gp), electrum bright (ep), silver shield (sp), and copper common (cp).[2]

Description
Pontyrel is a small city, but one that is well cared for—beautiful statuary and lush planters decorate the streets.[5]
Military
The 50th Infantry, led by Lance Colonel Lord Aramil Reede, is headquartered in Pontyrel as part of the Old March, but will move to support the Dumadan March if needed.
Religion
- Kord—There is a temple and strong militant presence from its members.[6]
- Mayaheine-Followers of Mayaheine also worship at the temple of Pelor.[7]
- Pelor- There is a temple to Pelor[8] led by Prelate Last Malon (Cleric 13)[7]
- Rao-There is a small shrine to Rao within the temple of Pelor.[9]
