The Lamplighters Guild lights the streets of Seltaren at night, accepting anyone willing to take on the demanding job, especially in Lower Seltaren. While rumors suggest the guild is tied to the Rogues of Seltaren, they are rarely believed. A strict hierarchy governs those who light lamps in Upper Seltaren, with fierce competition for advancement. Despite fewer members in winter, the lamps remain lit.
The Lamplighters Guild was disbanded by the Aldermen after a violent suppression of their protest demanding recognition of their monopoly. When fires broke out during the protest, the Bär Rampant and Ducal Guard crushed the demonstrators, reaffirming the noble houses' resistance to guilds and professional organizations.[1]

In 596 CY, after the Lamplighter’s Guild was disbanded under the hooves of the Bär Rampant due to its challenge to Suel nobility, the Seltaren Performers Guild quickly rebranded as the Seltaren Performers Society. They have offered no official statement for the change.
Rumors and legends
The Lamplighter’s Guild, secretly a front for the Rogues of Seltaren, often left lamps unlit to aid their activities. Tensions rose when a noble complained, leading to firings and non-Rogue replacements. The First Rogue retaliated with disappearances, but targeting someone connected to House Grek drew more scrutiny. When the council discovered the guild’s existence, they disbanded it, citing Suloise law against guilds. A mysterious incitement of unrest led to a protest, but the Rogues, uninvolved in the march, abandoned the guild as a cover. Now, they handle unlit lamps through more direct methods.
