The Earldom of Linth is a region of Keoland.

History

The Earldom of Linth dates back to the establishment of the kingdom in -342 CY.

Geography

Borders

The Earldom of Linth is located in central Keoland, south of the capital of Niole Dra. It is bordered to the east by the Barony of Riverwatch, south by the Earldom of Gand and Barony of Sayre, west by the March of Blerfield, and northwest by the County of Nimlee.

To the northeast, the Earldom of Linth is divided by the Sheldomar River from the Duchy of Ulek. Just across its northern border is the Silent Tower, located in the Royal District of the capital city.

Notable settlements

The town of Segor rests on the banks of the Sheldomar River. It is the capital of the province, and its population is counted at 4,540 as of 591 CY.

Notable locations

The fields in the far north of the Earldom, those nearest the Silent Tower south of Niole Dra, are barren and deserted. This may be due to the infamously superstitious nature of Keoish farmers.

People

Population

The human poplation is largely Oeridian in ancestry.[1]

According to the Keoland Census of 589 CY published by the Living Greyhawk Keoland website, the population of the Earldom of Linth is 91,404, including 84,696 humans, 5,305 gnomes, 1,308 halflings, and 95 half-orcs. There also 226,817 poultry and 59,678 meat and dairy.[1]

Notable individuals

The Earldom of Linth is the ancestral home of the infamous wizard Baltron of Linth, who was banished by the king to the Hool Marshes.

Government

The Earldom of Linth is a feudal province of the Kingdom of Keoland. It is the home of House Linth, an obscure and declining Suel noble house.

Economy

Resources

One of Keoland's central regions, Linth is best known for its strong agricultural exports.

Currency

The Earldom of Linth uses the standard currency of Keoland: the platinum griffon (pp), gold lion (gp), electrum eagle (ep), silver hawk (sp), and copper sparrow (cp).
