Description
Appearance
Raknian is a burly man in his early fifties, with strong sinewy muscles and heavy lantern jaw. A scar runs from his hairline above his left brow, down across his left eye and cheek, to his left jawline and point of his chin.
Personality
He is noted for being brave and self-confident, and has a strong personal will that gives him a sense of purpose. His goals are universally self-motivated, and he is very cunning and works toward his goals so that any illegal action he may take is not attributed to him and he retains the appearance of being law-abiding. He has covered up crimes, and attempted to frame others for false crimes or crimes he committed.
Raknian is a murderer and, after he was raised, he willingly associates with fiends and their servitors.

Activities
Relationships
Raknian had a lover by the name of Lahaka, a somewhat famous entertainer.[3] She was with him for two years. Unfortunately, she expressed an interest of a later Champion of the Arena, Auric, and he confronted her over it. Her admiration of the striking and strapping gladiator brought her to leave Raknian saying he was too old to satisfy her anymore. Raknian flew into a jealous rage and murdered her, strangling her to death in 594 CY.[3]

History
Raknian gained favor and popularity as a gladiator in the Free City Arena. Later, once he was Director of the arena, his involvement in a plot to slaughter thousands of people while they attended the arena was exposed.[4] Though that plot to sacrifice arena spectators to bring about the Age of Worms failed, he was a wanted man and attempted to hide out in the Slum Quarter. With the City Watch hot on his heels, he fled to the Ruins of Castle Greyhawk.[5] There, he was slain in the False Crypts by a tiefling necromancer, Baervalar, who planned to create a powrful undead creature from his corpse.[6] However, he was raised by a false-Iggwilv's companion demon, whom he began to serve afterward.[6]
Rumors and legends
The murder of his lover, Lahaka, was covered up and rumors of it eventually faded and were forgotten for the most part. After events linking Raknian to cult activity at the Free City Arena, Rakninan fell into disfavor and a bounty was put on him by the City Watch (which eventually increased to 6,000gp) and wanted posters adorned shop fronts and tavern boards for a couple of years (at least 595-597 CY).[7]
