Voormann
Voormann or voorzitter is the title of the elected head of the nation of Perrenland.
The institution of a voormann was begun by the hero Perren in 400 CY, who was selected as voormann for five consecutive eight-year terms.[1]
A voormamn is addressed as 'Your Gravity'.[2]
Creative origins
The terms are originally from Dutch, voorzitter meaning "chairperson" or "president" and voormann meaning "leader".[3][4]
Publication history
The Dungeon Master's Guide (2024), uses the term voorzitter for the first time, instead of voormann.[5] Voorzitter is more accurate as a title of a political leader than the general term voormann which is more frequently a band leader, construction foreman, or supervisor.

The voorman is elected, but does have some monarch-like powers.[6] The voormann is Commander-in-Chief of the Auszug (fereral forces, not cantonal), the nation's representative in international politics, and the chairperson of the Concatenated Council.[6]
Just like other Concatenated Council members, the voormann also has the ability to "propose legislation, which are considered and ratified by the Concatenated Council, then by the House of Grafs."[6] Only during a state of emergency can the voormann bypass the two-stage procedure of policy ratification, but the declaration of national emergency must first be supported by a majority of Council members.[6] Additionally, the voormann can veto any proposal put forward by any member of the Concatenated Council.[6]
Initially, the voormann was also the head of the Shool of the Old Kerk, but this was changed in 491 CY. However, any candidate for the position of voorman must belong to the Old Kerk.
A voormann is elected by the Concatenated Council every eight years. An untervoorman is appointed by the voorman.[6] The election process can take a great deal of time and often involves lengthy debates between council members. The election process takes place in the nations capital, Schwartzenbruin.
The voormann is protected and served by an order of trusted warriors known as the voormansgardt.
The voormann in 591 CY is Karenin Weisspeer.[2]
