The Unified Bands of the Warfields, also known as Warfields, is one of the Bandit Kingdoms.
Description
"Warfields has been a chaotic land wracked by nearly endless warfare. [...] consisting mostly of wilderness and ruined towns. "[1]
History
Warfields was counting among the allies of the Horned Society in 578 CY. This alliance ended following an invasion of the Bandit Kingdoms by Tenh, which led to the Hierarchs invading Warfields and ruling it until the Greyhawk Wars. In 579 CY, Warfields, under the Horned Society and alongside several other Bandit Kingdoms, invaded the Shield Lands. Warfields' troops withdrew in 583 CY and joined forces with the Empire of Iuz, which led to great losses in the massacare at Steelbone Meadows a year later.
Geography
Warfields borders the Horned Lands to the west, the Shield Lands to the south, the Earldom of the Tangles to the east, and the Barony of Wormhall and Abbarra to the north.
People
The Unified Bands of the Warfields are only unified by rule of their Guardian General, the title given to the ruler who can most effectively suppress all rivals. The most recent Guardian General, Hok, has been missing since the end of the Greyhawk Wars. Humans are few in Warfields in 591 CY, with hobgoblins taking their place. Warfields is ruled from Hallorn, an Iuz-appointed regional capital.
Languages
As with the rest of the Bandit Kingdoms, Common and Orcish are spoken here.
