| For the purpose of this wiki, we're avoiding a strict definition of "creature", in order to present as much information as possible. These include not just "monsters", but also "playable" creatures like Orcs, centaurs, lizardmen, quaggoths, beastmen, or githyanki, and typical PC races such as dwarves, elves, gnomes, halflings, humans, et al. |
| For common animals, see also: Animal. This category may include some common animals. The article on Animals lists known mundane animals like birds, lions, bears, deer, badgers, squirrels, etc.. |
This page contains a list of notable creatures of the World of Greyhawk specifically mentioned in official products.
There is a difficult line in deciding what is a "person" or "race" and what is a "creature" or "monster" because these groupings make a Venn diagram. There's overlap in what different people consider each group, much as they do in the City of Greyhawk which ofttimes has city guards or judges who enforce laws regarding monsters with varying interpretations. ... It's not always clear whether some, like centaurs, fall into the category of "people" or whether some are "monsters". [1]
